Description
Misilmeri (Sicilian: Musulumeli) is a town and commune in the province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy.It is located approximately 15 km (9 miles) from Palermo and its name means "the resting place or the messuage of the Emir", and dates from when the Saracens ruled Sicily and named it Manzil-Al-Emir.
The population is approximately 24,000 people. Misilmeri is in the Eleuterio Valley on the southern slopes of Montagna Grande. The altitude is approximately 129 meters above sea level.
