Description
Salaparuta is a town in South-Western Sicily, Italy, administratively part of the province of Trapani. It has 1,835 inhabitants as of 2001.
The original site of the town was the epicentre of a violent earthquake which took place in 1968.[1] As a result, Salaparuta was completely destroyed and rebuilt not far from the original location. The current Salaparuta is still home to many of the citizens of the old town.
Salaparuta is popularly known for its DOC wine production, one of the finest in the zone, and also the main income source for the town.
